Feel like in vacation

Today is the day between national holiday and weekend. Also the day after weekend, we will have another holiday for three days.

Because of this, today's atmosphere of the office was like vacation, everyone is not concentrated, and took longer lunch time.

In terms of myself, I had no emergency task today. So I could spent much time for completing one thing.

I like being busy, but I don't dislike the atmosphere today...

Anyway, from tomorrow, there is a long vacation! Do you have any plan for it?

Arrange

I have started arranging and composing since I was the university student.

Today, I had a chance to play the tune I have arranged for the early time, actually my first arrangement.

Then I realized that I knew so little thing at that time. Anywhere I could find mistook, and unnatural points. So I rearranged the tune today.

Even I have studied arrangement for many years, I haven't felt that I learned so many things. But today, I found that my skill is certainly going up.

I'm going to study more and more.

Park

I like to walk in a park.

One of my favorite place is Shinjuku-gyoen. There are various garden
with various concepts.

In specific seasons, such as cherry blossoms of autumn leaves, there
are so clouded and I can't relax, but mostly there are few people and
I can enjoy the atmosphere.

Last weekend, I went to the imperial palace, and walked across the
Hibiya park. Then I realized that the Hibiya park is also very nice
place. Of course the garden is absolutely nice, also the surroundings
of the park is good. In a few minutes, you can walk to Yurakucho, or
Ginza. Hence there are many cool buildings like a hotel, the Peninshla.

Because it is inconvenient for me to go there, I scarecely go to
Hibiya park. But I'm now thinking of going to there often, also enjoy
running around the imperial palace.

Ice cream

I like ice cream.

I have ice cream not only in summer but every seasons.

I usually have Haagen Datz, and sometimes Thirty-one.

Actually, there are campaigns with Thirty-one, that it discounts 31%
for every 31st days.

Also, this campaign is conducted now. Just yesterday, I went to have
it. I'd like to go one or more times for this chance.

Fresh juice

I went to a food market at the park in front of United Nation
University.

There I had a cup of fresh juice. It includes mango, orange and other
fruits, also it includes various vegitables, such as cabege.

I'm now thinking of making fruits juice by myself. But it requires
juicer, that can crash the ice. I have food processor and hand
blender, so I can crash the fruits and vegitables, but no ice. I look
for some alternative method for it. Can you find any idea?

Charity Run

Today, I participated a charity run, which my company is one of the sponsors. This event is backed up with MAWJ, Make A Wish Japan, and the participation fee is donated to the children who has unfortunately no parents, etc.

In the event, I joined and run a 10 km run. There are many people who is working in the same company as me, and I know, but I have never talked with. So this time, it was very good chance for me to make some connection in my office.

Also, our president John have also participated and run 5 km. He was so fast runner that he made a goal in 22 minutes!

After the 5 km run, there was 10 km run, that I participated. I was very nervous that I could run through it, because these days, I couldn't make a time for running, and I have trained 10 km run for about 2 times. Additionally, many people except for me have run around the imperial palace, but it was the first time for me.

Once I started, I realized there are so long upward slope. First, I thought of downing my speed, but as I have trained, I kept my pace, and finally, I could finish it. The time was 45 minutes! My best score!

One of my colleague have also joined, he was almost athlete, and he completed the 10 km run in 37 minutes, even his condition was bad. After the run, I heard from him about how to make my run faster, and he advised many things.

My interest for running came to be bigger than ever, so I want to continue training, and I will to join more and more running event from now.

Waffle

This waffle is made with whole grain cereal. This tastes very natural,
a little nostalgic.

These days there are so many foods which tastes so strong, includes
too much sugar, salt, pepper and other seasonaries. Additionally
saying, most of the seasonaries are artificial, not natural. Now we
are used to these kind of tastes, and that destroys our sensitivity
or delicacy of our taste. This should be one of the sub-products of
civilization.

Anyway, I like this waffle, and this natural taste, but sometimes I
should want to eat chocolate or French fries...

Translation

This is so difficult to translate public documents. Especially, I'm translating many reguratory documents, specifically saying policy, rule, standard, guideline, etc. These kind of documents includes very specific terms and idioms.

Additionally, there are many technical terms for financial or insurance companies, which are common words but include specific meanings, such as security for bonds, claim for insurance payment, etc.

I joined this company and now just used to the words in Japanese, and from now, I have to learn these words in English.

Memorizing these terms is so exciting, actually my interests for knowledge is very high. Hence now, I'm enjoying the current works.

A Japanese proverb says, ignorance is crime.

Also, a Chinese proverb says, knowing ignorance of yourself.

I know that there are so many things that I don't know, hear and experienced. I will continue learning during whole my life.

Citrus

A sour citrus called Natsu-Mikan, stands for summer orange.

Actually, we can enjoy this in the beggining of spring. The
disagreement of the name and the season comes from the definition of
season in Japan.

Traditionally, such as in Nara or Heian era, the definition of the
season was different from modern one. January to March was called
spring, April to June was called summer, July to September was called
autumn, and October to December was called winter. That is why there
are difference.

Actually the citrus I tasted yesterday was so sour. But once I eat it,
I feel that summer is not so far.

Fried pork?

How do you think when you look at this rice bowl? Fried pork and sauté
of scallop?

Actually, they are all made with vegetable. The fried pork like thing
is a dried paste of rice called "Fu". Also the scallop like thig is
large mushroom! Although that is not real ones, but it tastes like as
if you are eating real ones. The texture is perfectly the same.

I think that it must be good for who adopt macrobiotic for their
health and want to eat meat and sea foods. But eating the real things
is absolutely delicious than fake ones.

My opinion is that we should eat what we want, and we like. This
attitude makes us healthy not only with body but mind.

Fortunatelly, I like these kind of foods, honestly speaking, the foods
which is good for my health. Hence I want to continue this style of
eating.

Dried apple

I purchased a pack of dried apple.

The shop that I bought this was organic one, so this is of course
organic.

But the texture was entirely different from usual dried fruits. In
terms of usual one, there are many sugar on the surface, but this one
is coated with nothing, just apple, that's all!

When you bite this one first, you realize that the texture is so
different, not moistured, but dried. Although, during chewing this,
this absorb the moisture, and tastes just like real apple! Amazing!

I have never experienced this. I want to introduce it to people who
like dried fruits. I believe that this must change the image of dried
fruits.

Brown Rice Cafe

This is a cafe with a shop at Omotesando, named Brown Rice Cafe.

There you can buy various organic goods. These days, I often come to
these kind of shops, maybe my life style and apatite changed, I'd like
to buy good things instead of cheap things.

Of course, there are many things which is not only cheap but also
good. But there should be some reasons for being cheap.

Sometimes, we can see the things good and cheap, but mostly, it is not
good for the environment or the earth.

We mustn't think of just human beings, but whole the nature.

Yesterday, I saw a friend who is living in the rural area of Chiba,
and doing organic farm to live, not to earn money. It was so
impressive for me that there are such people.

Now, I used to live in urban area, and expencing money, and wasting
many things. Consume many artificial things that I can never imagine
where and how it was produced.

I thought that it should be good for me to stop and see, listen feel
the things around me.

Earth day Tokyo 2010

Today, I've been to the event Earth Day Tokyo 2010 at Yoyogi park.

There were various shops and restaurants that sell organic food and
things made with natural materials.

Also, you can see many tents with various NPO that is working for
keeping the earth clean.

There I bought many organic vegitables, especially I found fantastic
shop which is selling carrots. You can try to put carrots into a
plastic bag for 100 yen. During the game, you put carrots into the bag
as far as you can, also it is not necessary that carrots are fully
inside the bag. So even just a little part of carrots are in the bag,
it's ok. Hence when I tried this game, finally I put 10 carrots into
the little bag. They are just 100 yen, can you imagine? I hope I can
try this game on the other organic festivals

After that, I tried the vegan curry and rice, rice ball, and
minestrone soup. They were all made with organic vegitables only, but
absolutely nice!

I want to participate more and more event like this.

Running

Today, I joged for about 10 km. This is a training for the charity run
on next Sunday. At that time, I'm going to run aroud the emperor's
palace, 5 km for each, so I'm going to run around twice.

I have had training for about a month, actually I used to do, but I
quit that because of my work at Nagoya. And I haven't run for 10 km
yet. Hence I tried this time, and finally I could finish it. It was
very appropriate day for running, not too cold, a little cool, and the
air was a little humid, because it rained yesterday.

I hope I can run with the same condition as today when running on next
Sunday.


I've forgot to talk about the photo, this is today's lunch, spare rib
and vegitable soup.

Kazunoko

Kazunoko, the eggs of a fish kind of trout, and put into the salt and
left for a few days. This is one of the traditional food in Japan,
especially we eat this in the new year as a box called Osechi,
assembled food for new year.

I had Kazunoko for tonight dinner. It tasted so nice that I ate extra
portion of rice today.

Do you know the snack named "apolo"? It is a snack consists of two
tasted chocolate, plane chocolate and strawberry. The drink I had
tasted like that snack. I felt some nostalgy with this.

Wagon cafe

This is a cafe at the last food market at Yoyogi park. This is named
Allo cafe, you can buy crape in this cafe.

The shape of this wagon is so cute, the retro shape and the white roof
makes me feel that. Actually, this type of wagon, Citroen H Van, is
famous for kitchen car at France.

You can go, see and taste Allo cafe at Omotesando. Why don't you go

Roll cake

This is a cut of roll cake that I can buy at Hamamatsu, the patisserie
is named Fushie.

All of my familly like this cake, because the sponge is appropriately
wetty, and the texture is absolutely nice.

Also, the cream inside is also nice, it is not too oily and not too
sweet either.

Because the ingredients are very fresh, the eating limit is the day
this cake have baked. This is the only point that I feel inconvenient
with this.

Anyway, this roll cake is one of my favorite foods.

Earth day market

Today, I've been to the earth day market at Yoyogi park.

There many organic shops are there, some of them are selling
vegitables and the other are selling foods, such as bread, curry and
rice, sweet azuki bean soup called Oshiruko, etc.

I had a Taiyaki there, which is one of my favorite foods, and the
Taiyski was absolutely delicious, because the azuki beans inside this
was not too sweet, and the original sweet taste comes out. Having
organic foods, you can enjoy the original taste if vegitables, so I
like this kind of event.

I've heard that there are so many organic event in Tokyo, and you can
enjoy it once a week, so I'm going to check it up from now.

Morning

I've received a present from my friends.

They are a pair of cups, with coaster. As you can see, the cup is not
usual mug cup, but there are silicon bases under the cup, also there
are silicon top, looks like one that is used at some cafe, but it is
made with silicon.

I will be able to feel like at a cafe even having a coffee at home.

Vocabulary

Today, I went to a rehearsal of the orchestra. There a trainer, a violinist who will play solo on the next concert with the violin concerto of Mendelssohn, used many technichal terms that classical music player uses.

Classical music player uses mostly Italian, such as "poco a poco" and "andante". But they also use Germany for calling notes or scales, such as Es dur for E flat major. Also, the chart I'm playing now is arranged by Ravel, so the chart is all written in French, actually French is not popular for classical charts.
Anyway, it is very interesting that many Japanese classical music player uses both Germany and Italian..

X-colleague

Today, I have met with the past team member when I belonged to hp.

Actually, the team I belonged was released after I left there, and many members left the team, so all of the x-colleague whom I met today belongs to other companies.

We talked about the current job, and agreed that the environment of the past project was unreasonable at all. But I think that the worst working environment made me grown up so fast. Therefore I'm now appreciating for my x-boss that he took me into the project.

Fried noodle

Today, I had "Nagasaki Champon". This is consists of fried Chineese
noodle and sauce with vegetables. This is the famous food in Nagasaki,
the origin is not so old, there are a famous artificial island called
"Dejima" in Nagasaki, and there were many foreigners especially from
Dutch in Edo era. Through the place, many foreign cultures came into
Japan, and the traditional culture and the foreign cultures were mixed
up. It is said that the Champon came in at that time.

Anyway I prefer to eat Champon more than other chineese noodle,
because there are various kind of vegetables!

Polar bear

Today is very cold day.

But the polar bear at the zoo seems very confotable swimming in the
cold water.

But actually, he looks very lazy and annoying on very hot day in the
summer.

I don't know which is better to be adaptive body to summer or winter.

Eventually, I think being a human is the best, the body is adaptive to
spring and autumn.

Hanami

I went to Ueno national park, and also went to Ueno zoo.

There many cherry blossoms are blooming that many people came to see
them, this is called Hanami in Japan.

Actually, there are too many people that I can't find if which i'm
comming to see people or flowers.

Anyway, the flowers were so beautiful that I want to see them as far
as I can endure the cold winds.

Today I bought a cup of ice cream by Haagen Datz. This is one of the
line up of Dolce series.

This ice cream consists of vanilla ice cream, spounge and berry sauce.
Tastes so nice! I thought that this is one of the most delicious one
in the Dolce series.

I'd like to buy this one again sooner or later.

Cheeze

Today, I had maccarooni with tomato based sauce. In the sauce, there
are mozzarella cheeze, and it is very interesting to say that I hadn't
heated the cheeze, but put it into the hot sauce, the cheeze melted
with the hot vegitables and became sticky, it made the sauce so
delicious.

I can eat this mozzarella by eating itself with cold tomate, also I
can enjoy it with melted style. Cheeze is very useful!

Rules and regulatories

These days, I have many opportunitis to use English, even writing and reading.

And today, I was ordered to translate a rule for underwriting. Actually, I was used to do translation, I have never treated the rules. It was absolutely difficult to do this, because there are many special idiom and ways of sayings, also there are many technical terms there, it made me very nervous about vocabularies used in the rule.

Finally I've finished that, but maybe there should be so many unnatural expressions there. I'm going to check them up tomorrow.
