October festival

Today, I'm coming to the Octoberfest, the festival of beer.

This festival is originally started in Germany, and usually held in October. And it was imported to Japan, and held almost all the year.

This time, I went to Shiba-park, there you can see Tokyo tower, and today, it was lighten up with blue.

Anyway, the beer was absolutely nice! I had Erdinger for the first time, but I was so impressed with it.

Since today, I have thought that Belgian beer is my favorite, but today I realized that German beer is as delicious as it. I'd like to taste more kinds of German beer.

History and Politica

In our country, Japan, most people are not interested in politics.

The election rate continues to decline for many years.

There should be many reasons for this situation, but I think, this is the matter of education system.

Mostly, in elementary, junior high and high school, all of us study history and politics separately. And teachers focuses on the ancient era, so there are so time remain when they reach the modern era.

Actually, history is deeply connected, linked with politics, but we don't realize the linkage between these two, because we aren't studying the modern history adequately.

We assume the historical event as just an event, and no relation with ourselves. Though most historical events are the results of politics.

In the other country, in the history classes, there are many workshop that the historical events are dealt for the case study.

Anyway, I mean that we must have more interest in politics.

Vocabulary

I think that the vocabulary is two sides; one is actual number of words in the memory, and the other is the link of the words with the meaning, situation and the relation with other relevant words.

We Japanese have studied English so long, so they have large number of words in their memory. But they are only linked with the meaning, not with the using situation.

This is one of the reason why we cannot speak English.

The situation is linked with words by explaining something with the words. And the link is strengthened by using it repeatedly.

This may be called "practice".
Practicing is the base of everything.

Animals forget every things, because the cells in the brain dies every second. And practicing is memorizing, saving some information to another new cell.

Practicing is the only way you can keep and develop everything.

Credit Risk

Today, I had a training about credit risk.

In this training, a specialist from the vendor which provides the tool for evaluating credit risk, named Credit Manager.

Within this training, I have learnt about the basic but intuitive explanation on credit risk. The Mean Horizon Value and the Percentiled Horizon Value is the key idea. Simply saying, the difference of these two is the credit risk. And the Percentiled Horizon Value is calculated by conducting Monte Carlo Simulation, legacy method for simulation, using random seeds.

Having today's training, I realized that the mechanism of the Credit Manager is absolutely simple, but utilizing the entire function and verify the result is extremely difficult.

Meanwhile, the specialist have also explained about the sophisticated evaluation method for the credit risk, based on the Barra Model. With this model, we can identify the factors which impact to credit risk intuitively, and this method adopt the multiple variable regression analysis. The vendor updates the coefficients, which was calculated as the answer of the regression formulae, daily. This idea is very simple, but needs some important assumptions, such as the factors, how to select them. Even there are many suspicious, ambiguous, and uncommon assumptions with the method, this seems to be very interesting.

Anyway, I got to know about the credit risk a bit. I'd like to learn more about it and stochastic verification of credit risks.

Corn

Today, I've got some corns from my home town.

I boiled them and tasted at once.

Corn is one of the most delicious vegetables, I think.

Marche de Pain

Today, I went to the Tokyo station, actually, this was the way to go to Hamamatsu, my home town, therefore I looked up some souvenirs to bring.

I went into a market, Dean & Deluca, one of my favorite cafe and shop. There, I realized that they dealt with the bread produced by various bakeries.

It was Saturday, and the day's bread was the one produced by National Depart, placed in Koenji. The breads are colorful and especially, the campagne looks absolutely nice! You can purchase the sac which include several kind of bread and try them, and the price is about 1,000 JPY or less.

I'd like to try them someday in near future.

Today's sky

Mozart

Today, I was invited to join a chamber orchestra, which plays mainly the tunes by Mozart.

This is accidental for me that I was invited to this orchestra. The person who invited me was the member of the orchestra that I started to join since this spring, and this is the one that the person who invited me has established, actually the alumni orchestra of one high school.

And this time, we will play the symphony "Scotland" by Mendelssohn, "Marriage of Figaro" by Mozart and the Piano Concert by Mozart. So amazing programs.

The only concern for me is that the show is almost coming, two weeks later, and I can only attend the G.P., the last rehearsal.

Anyway, I'll try to practice hard and enjoy the concert!

Mandarin Oriental Hotel

Today, I've been to the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Tokyo.

The atmosphere was absolutely nice, and in the foyer, there are some snacks and drinks, such as cakes, macaroon, etc.

Actually, the meeting didn't satisfy our requests, we were satisfied with the atmosphere and many other things.

I hope I can come to here again for private, not business.

Skyblue

Sometimes, sky-blue includes various colors other than blue, such as orange, green, red, purple, etc.

Today's sky seems to be just blue, but concentrating to some parts, there are so many discovery.

There are various kinds of clouds in the sky, and each of the clouds poses specific characters.

Mostly, the character is expressed with the shape, but at the same time, the difference of the shape influences the texture of surface. Also, the texture of the cloud affects the colors of the cloud.

It is extremely amazing looking the colors of the cloud changing as the time passes and the light changes.

There are no same shape and colors of clouds, and also you can never see the same color with the same cloud. It continues to change and transform. This is the nature, and this is the art.

You can select various tastes from several flavors.

This time, my selection is coconuts, mango and peach.

The combination between each of them are absolutely nice!

Musee d'Orsay exhibition at The National Art Center, Tokyo

 Today, I went to the National Art Center in Tokyo to see the exhibition of Orsay Museum.

There were about a hundred pieces from Paris, and they include many famous masterpieces, such as the self portrait of Van Gogh, etc.

One of my favorite one is the Parliament in London, drawn by Claude Monet. The color is consists of various one, blue, pink, yellow, and any other colors, which should not mixed up in ordinary drawings.

Not only the color, but also the perspective and the touch of painting is the favorite point of this piece.

Unfortunately, today is the day before the last day of this exhibition. I regret that I should come earlier, and come to several times.

I hope I can see these kind of paintings, impressionism again, perhaps it may be at Paris!

Cooking exercise

Today, I went to the Kushi Macrobiotic Academy at Kawasaki to have cooking exercise.

Today's menu was curry and nann with fried dried soy cake, pressed salad, a yogurt like drink, peach tasted.

All of them were not so difficult, but I was interested in the macrobiotic way of cooking.

Someday, I would like to learn more, from basis, about macrobiotics.

Yesterday, I read an article saying that the accent of the person influences one's credibility, actually the source of the article was Reuter.

From the first time that I started to learn English, I have familiar to the American accent English. And it made me pronouncing following American way.

But today, I had a meeting with some of my team member. Actually, my boss is American, so when I have talked with him one-to-one, I haven't realized that my English is American accent. But at the today's meeting, there was an attendee who have been in Germany and worked for several years, actually, he was in Germany when he was a child. Then I realized that his English is obviously different from our one; in accent, pronunciation, and intonation. His English was as clear as German, and the intonation was flat, like German.

Sometimes, I hear someone speaking English in Japanese intonation, bur scarcely hear that in other intonation.

Remembering the stay at Paris, I memory that Parisienne also speaks French style English.

Now I'm wondering that if the accent if English influences his credibility, which one is the most credible? And who can define it? Probably, the answer is that it depends, but most cases, American accent should be the best.

Now, in the finance perspective, the dollar continues to be weaker, and instead, Chinese or other Asian country are getting stronger. Then, the Asian accent would be more credible than American one? I don't know the answer, no one can predict it.

Dango

Mitarashi Dango, one of my favorite kinds of Dango, the rice dumpling.

Not only the sticky texture, specific for Dango, but the sauce, caramelized soy sauce and sugar, is absolutely delicious.

I bought this one at one market neighbor to my house, during summer festival.

Actually, the atmosphere made the taste more delicious, but one discovery for me is that the market in the neighborhood provides so delicious one! I'd like to try another taste at this market.

Time management

These days, I'm not managing my self strictly, this is because there are no clear and short deadline, I guess.

Long term tasks or project requires you to manage yourself; scheduling, putting actions items and managing the results.

The most important thing is defining the scope.

There are so many tools for management, but actually there are not so much handling the scope.

I guess the reason that the defining scope depends on the occasion.

Now, it is the time for me to define the scope of one of the biggest projects in these two years.

I've got a camera, produced by Olympus.

This is the camera I bought.

Since now, I have never bought a camera by my self, actually, I had some, but they are not my selection, but may family gave me or kind of that.

This time, I looked up many cameras.

But I didn't want to but ordinary digital camera, because the camera on my iPhone is high spec enough. Also, I wondered if I should buy single-lens reflex camera, because most of these type of camera is large and heavy.

Finally, I found mirror less single-lens reflex camera; the specification is as high as usual single-lens reflex camera, but this is much smaller than that, because some of the mechanism is deducted, the reflex mirror.

Now, I'm taking many pictures. The mechanism of camera is very interesting; adjusting not only the mechanical parts, such as focus or shutter speed, but also software parts, such as saturation or colors, is absolutely interesting.

I must be absorbed to camera.

My life's ingredients

Today, I stayed at my home almost all the day.

In the morning, I washed cloths, cleaned the room, studied a little, and then started to practice.

After the practice, I realized that it was almost 5pm, and the sun came down.

What I did today is very ordinary things, and the only thing that should be different from one of others' is that I practiced with forgetting the time passes.

I recognize that my life is consists of music, 60%, study, 25%, food, 10%, and the rest is the other things.

Some asks me why I don't select the music as my job, but my answer is that I would like to study broadly, not only music, but also mathematics, statistics, physics, chemistry, history, linguistics, and any other.

What is my major, sometimes I'm asked. Probably, everything that I interested is my major, I think.

Steamer

I've got a steamer yesterday.

The steamer is consists with two layers, and you can steam double quantity of things in one time.

Sometimes, efficiency is assumed to be good thing, but the other, it assumed as bad.

In some developing countries, some of the transactions are not automated, and for the transaction, many people are hired. One of my friends said that is because they have to create working opportunity.

This world is consists of so many complexed thing, and there are thousands of stakeholders for just one thing, even that is extremely small thing.

Artificial space

I like both natural and artificial things. One is warm and the other is cold, they are placed in the opposite position. But sometimes, they exists at the same time. In terms of some products by northern European producer, such as Bang & Olufsen, they indicates artificial, simple, things with natural, wooden, things. The same things are mentioned with the product by MUJI.

The design is sophisticated, not just simple, but there are the functions that we requires. Sometimes, the function corresponds to the demand of very niche people. But this is very important, and the unbalance makes people fun and attracted.

This is the strategy of very famous computer producer, Apple co. They design very sophisticated look, and the functions attract minority people; this is their strategy.

But cynical thing is happening these days. There, iPhone is sold in all over the world, and many people purchase it. As a results, iPhone became majority of the smart phone market. Apple must pleased with the sales profit increasing, but this brought them about the anticipation to their strategy.

The next step they will take indicates their future, I think.

Colors of happiness

Tomatoes, carrots, zucchini, beans and basil.

Colorful dish, this seems to be filled with happiness.

Brain storming

Brain storming is one of the way to invent new idea, by discussing various people from various fields.

The essential thing for the brain storming is that each person have their major and there is one facilitator, who don't prevent people from arguing.

Today, I had brain storming with one of my colleagues in other teams, investment area. His major is finance, and these days he is learning well about investment risk, credit risk, market risk, country risk, etc.
But on the other hand, I have no major, actually I'm learning about underwriting, investment, accounting, operation and system, various fields. Meanwhile, none of them becomes my major, even some level of skill and knowledge I have, but I have no experience in the reporting or operation area, therefore my knowledge is just learnt thing, not experienced by myself.

Then, what is my value is that I have some of logical thinking skill, large field of knowledge, and experience in system, specifically saying, programming.
By combining them, I consider some logic, design architecture, and create some verifying tool.
Also, I can tell sone concern about new initiatives, in a broad perspective.

Although, I cannot deny that my knowledge in each field is inadequate.

What I have to do is continue studying, and combine all the knowledge.

Camera

These day, I'm considering about buying a camera, not just digital camera, but single-lens reflex digital camera.

Most single-lens reflex camera is large and heavy, even it became digital one, but there are some series called mirror-less single-lens reflex digital camera.

Actually, the origin of the name "reflex" is that inside the camera, there's just one lens and you can find the same image in both finder and the taken image. Using reflex mirror, this mechanism is realized, but mirror-less means that there is no such mechanism, you can see no finder there, there is just a specification same as original reflex camera, that you can change the lens by yourself and there are various lens for the camera.

Anyway, the ones I'm thinking of buying seems very cool, adequate specs, and very light and small.

In several days, I'll decide which one to buy. I absolutely look forward to taking pictures with new camera!
