Today I'm comming back to my hometown. And there a cat was on my bed,
maybe the bed is not mime but his now.

Rainbow colored sky

I don't know why but the sky seems rainbow in this morning, so amazing.

New year

Christmas was over, and there you can see many decoration for new year.

This is the bamboo decoration in front of my office.

Echire butter

Today I had the Echire butter for my dinner. With the butter, I had
some bread bought at the Maison Keiser.
Of course the taste of the bread was nice, but the taste of the echire
butter was extremely delicious.

I had never thought like that I'd like to continue eating butter.

Echire butter is special one, and I'd like to have opportunities to eat it when I have some
special events.

Farewell party

Today I had a farewell party for whom I have played together in my
band for 3 years.

As he have many friends, some of my friends and I planned a farewell
party for him.

In the party, we gave him a cake a portrait of him is drawn imtje top
of the cake.

As fad as you can imagine, he was so pleased with the party,
especially the cake.

Lounge

The title doesn't mean the genre of the music, but the experience of
mine today. Today I'm staying at hotel new otani in Tokyo.

There's some services such as serving extra things with no charge.

How do you evaluate this service?

Sky

Sky, getting brighter.

One plate lunch

Today I made a luch on one plate.

You can see fried roots the above side of dish, it is the main dish of
today's lunch.

Actually I like to eat meat or something seems not good for my health,
but today I cooked a dish only with vegitables. Of course I'm not
vegan, but I like this kind of foods, someone said to me that it is
because I got used to that. How do you think?

Pressure

The end of this week, I'm going to have an exam of actuary.

I have studied for this almost whole year, but actually it is just some months ago since I could concentrated to one subject.

Some of my coleague encouraged me when they go home today, but it made me more and more nervous.

Ah, I wish I can pass one subject this time.

Evelest

Today I came to an Indian restaurant named Kumari, which is neighbor
to my house.

There I usually eat curry and nann, but today I ordered new apertif,
named "the evelest set". I don't know why it is called like that,
anyway it tasted nice!

Sunset

On sunset, it is faster to be dark than morning.

I like this time. The color changes time to time, and it is so
beautiful that things get red, then turn to blue, the opposite color.

At first, I feel a little melancholic feeling, but it turn to be cool
feeling.

Morning

I like morning.

In the morning, the air is clear and it makes me fine feeling from
inside.

I like to get up early.

Also, I like the morning sky. It is full of hope and endeavor.

Party

Today, I played the bass with Big Wing Jazz Orchestra which is very famouse and has longer history than my life, and we played at a party.

It is so called business gig, like a BGM. We selected some tunes suit for this season, and the atmosphere of the party, acutually there are many elder people, also children, so we selected some tunes both which audience can dance and everyoneknows, such as christmas songs.

During the party, I was so surprised that so many people can dance, actually there are so many "hi society" people, so they are taught about that kind of things.

Anyway, almost all the audience seemed to be pleased with our play.

This is the first time for me to do this kind of play with big band at a party, so I'd like to do more and more times.

24 hours

There are 24 hours in a day. About quarter of the day, we are
sleeping. And the remain, we work, eat, chat, and many activities.

These days, I'm studying after working and also before working. But I
fond feel it is enough. And I'd like to do more and more things.

So first, I'm trying to get up early and do what I want to do in the
morning.

These days, the sunrise is not so early, about half past 6. So I can
see many faces of the sky, and changing the colors. Today I took the
darker one.

Skyscraper

I went to the office earlier than usual today.

Then, I look up the building that I work at. It reflects the sunshine
and looks so quiet.

It reminds me a start of something, something special, something
brilliant, and something hopeful.

Just ond thought of a morning.

Vegan pizza

Today I went to a restaurant where you can eat various dishes made
with vegitables.

I ate a pizza, which include just vegitables, instead of milk or meat.

The cheese like taste thing is made from tofu and vinegar, and many
other ingredients are from vegitables.

But the taste almost like cheese or meat, so interesting!

Dawn

Today, it was not fine in the morning, but the horizon seems to be
becoming brighter. And I feel something is getting bigger and bigger
in my mind.

Yes this sky makes me feel like that. Not special, common thing, but
curtainly makes me happy is there. The dawn in my mind.

Today, I did some task for a project to quantify operational risks.

Actually, operational risk quantification is in developement, and many financial companies are trying to make their original method for that.

As you can imagine, the quantification is not popular in Japan, and it is in progress in many Japanese companies.

There are many barrier for that, but most typical one is that there are no standard, and the distribution of the operational risk's loss depends on each company's character.

I tried to evaluate some losses in our company which we already gathered, and made a distribution, but it was quite difficult to find a distribution which exactly fit our distribution.

I have to spend more and more time to make up it, but it seems to be so difficult, of course, this is because I'm trying to do this.

Golden bar

One of my coleagues gave me a chocolate bar looks like gold.

The manufacturer of this is Godiva, one of the most famous chocolate
producer in the world.

Not only the looks of this but As far as the name, this is a "golden"
bar.

Sandwich

Onion bagle with avocado, celery, and cream cheese.

Winter

Today is so cold that I wanted to stay in the bed when I got up in the morning.

Actually, now it is beginning of December, so it is obvious that it is so cold, but I think it is toooooooooo cold today, especially the wind.

Instead of being cold, I can enjoywinter sports like snow boarding. I look forward to that and stand for these cold winds.

Vanguard

Today I went to a concert performed by the Vanguard Jazz Orchestra.

Their sound was absolutely fantastic and I really enjoyed the 2 stages.

As I wrote yesterday, the VJO is one of the most adimerable band in the world I think.

Not only their sound, but also the charts written by Thad Jones, Bob Brookmeyer, Jim McNeely and many other musicians are wonderful. I suppose they are the Art.

Unfortunately, I can see them just one day, but I wish they will come to Japan every year since this time, and I'd like to see them again and again.

Honesty is the key

Today I went to a talk show by the members of the Village Vanguard Jazz Orchestra, John Mosca and Douglous Purviance.

There they talked about some episodes about the band, and there were some impressive phrases.

One is "keep growing" and the other is "honesty is the key". The first one is about looking for new members or substitutes for the members who can't participate some gigs. They are looking at not how good he plays but weather he is trying to grow.

The second one is about the stance to the band, how they keep motivation to the managing big band which is quite difficult to make it.

I was touched with these words, and decided to do like these words.

Orchestra

Today, I went to a rehearsal of a orchestra.

I have been thinking of joining to a orchestra. But I have never played in a orchestra, so I have been hesitated to join.
But today, I posted a mail to one orchestra having performances around my home, and went to join see the rehearsal.
Then I have told to play the tunes that they are going to play at the recital on January.
Fortunatelly, I'm good at playing at a glance, so I could play almost all the tunes.

And finally I was told to join the orchestra. I had no bad omage to the orchestra, so I told yes.

I don't know what happens next, but I think there should be some troubles toake me interesting with the orchestra. Ansolutely interesting!

New face

Today, I joined a rehearsal of a band, which one of my friends belong
to. The history of the band is so long, about 35 years, longer than
my life. So the repartries of this band is more than 200! I have two
chances to join the rehearsal, and today was one of them.

Almost all the members already know the tunes to play but I had to
play at a glance.

Actually, there were a little chance to play like this these days, so
I was very nervous to play. Finally I could finish all the tunes of
today's menu, but it was about a half of the tunes which we are going
to play at the stage.

I have to practice the tunes hard!

By the way the pocture is a dinner for today, glatin with bread. The
bread is a bagle which includes onion in the dough. So delicous one.

Banana

I like banana, also one of my favorite brand is named "banana republic"

Today, I ate a piece of banana. Actully there are many minerals, and
good for our health.

I like some snacks made with bananas, especially cakes.

Anyway it is the best way to eat banana to eat it in raw.

Early bird

Today I had something to do in the morning, so I got up an hour
earlier than usual.

When I got up, I realized that it was still dark, and the sunis
justrizing from horizon.

It is really amazing to see the color of the sky gradually changing
from dark color to light color, black to orange, and finally blue.

From the window in my house, I can see Shinjuku through it.

Today it was so beautiful that the color of the city is changing time
after time.

Christmas tree

This is an illuminated Christmas tree in front of my office.

So beautiful!

Cram

Yesterday, I had a party at my home.

As I wrote yesterday, I prepared just some dishes.

And there my friends have ordered sea foods from Hokkaido! It is
absolutely obvious that the sea foods in Hokkaido are quite delicious.

There are two big crabs, ten crams, and big salmon for raw eating!

They were so delicious and the portion was also extra much that I
didn't want to eat more when we almost finished eating even there were
many legs of crab remain.

Finally, the remain came to my refrigerator and now I can eat it
whenever I want.

Now I'm imaging how to cook it, Italian, Spanish or Japanese taste
cooking, I cannot decide.

Vegan?

Today, I had a party at my home. Usually, I cook some dishes, such as
salad, apertizer, soup, and something made with meat or fish. But
today I was told not to prepare anything in advance because the
participants of the party is going to prepare something.

So today I cooked a salad with boiled vegetables, and some dip and
cracker.

These days I often cook the boiled vegetable salad, but today's one is
the most delicious one, not only the taste, but also the colors.

And the main dishes are... This is quite interesting story, so I'm
going to write about it tomorrow.

One plate dinner

There is a standard jazz number named "one note samba". It is named
after the melody of the tune.

Today's dinner was a bagle, curry flavor potatoes, avocado glatin, and
salad.

They are placed on one plate, so I call this menu "one plate dinner"
after the tune.

Financiere

This is a financiere made with Echire butter.

Echire butter is absolutely delicious one that I have ever tasted.

Not only the texture, but the taste is perfect. It melts in my mouse,
and the sweet taste spreads. Absolutely happy time.

Gnocchi

Today, I cooked gnocchi. This is the first time for me to cook it, but
the taste was quite good!

The recipe is absolutely simple. Boil potatoes, mush them, then mix
with flour. And boil it again until it bubbles up in the pan.

With the gnocchi, I cooked it with tomato source. Actually, it looks
like some rice ball, but it tastes potato, and a little sticky.
Interesting!

Cappadocia

Yesterday, I had a party at my home.

There one of my friends brought me a bottle of wine. He bought that
when he went to Turky, and outside of the box, there are a characters
printed. It was "Cappadocian Gift" in fluent letters.

And the bottle is the picture attached.

It looks so terrible! Weird bottle!

Anyway, the taste was not bad, but it wasn't so unique as the bottle
looks.

Ciao!

Sometimes, I eat a cup of ice cream after dinner.

Usually, I select the Haagen Datz, but today I tried new one, procuced
by Ciao Bella, the company at NJ.

It tasted very good, actually the price was as expensive as the one of
Haagen Datz.

I'd like to try more ones.

Hot sandwich baker

I bought a hot sandwich baker produced by Vitantonio yesterday. Since
today, I thought no needs for this kind of things, but when I bake a
mochi waffle, sometimes called "moffle", it tasted quite delicious and
thought it is very useful tool for cooking.

For the future, I'd like to make many recipes with this tool.

Oil heater

I bought an oil heater produced by Delonghi.

These days, it was quite cold like December, so it is very helpful for
me now.

Diving

The begining of this month, I went to Okinawa island to take the
scuber diving license.

And today, I received the cards. Actually, I took two liceses, open
water diver and advanced open water diver. So I received two cards
today.

One is golden card, and the other is a card printed with shark. It
looks so cool!

I'm looking forward to try diving more and more with these cards.

Priority

These days, I'm studying for an exam in december. It is too cinical and weird that this exam are placed on Christmas eve and Christmas.

Now, I'm studying for that every night, and everything in my life are now going with the exam centric.

Today, I was told that one party is going to be held today, because my boss has got a post. But I thought about the priority and decided not to participate that.

Of course I'd like to join that, but it is more and more important to study more minutes, even seconds.

It is quite hard to take this decision, but I wish to pass the exam, and try to do my best for that, I decided.

Accident

Today, in the afternoon, I had an accident at the restaurant.

That was a misorder of the waiter of the restaurant. And fortunately, I could eat the nisordered menu with no charge. Although the menu was not the one which I've ordered, it was quite delicious!

Sometimes accident makes you to go better direction, I thought.

Alcohol

These days, I don't have so many opportunity to have alcohol, like beer. Actually, I like having beer and talking with friends.

But today, I realized that I can't have alcohol so much. I don't know why and not sure that it is certain, but I found that I don't need so much in one time these days.

Of course it is really good not to have alcohol not only for my health but also my account.

The only thing what makes me nervous is that the occation to talk with friends should be decreased if I don't have alcohol.

Anyway there are so many opportunity to have alcohol in the end and the start of a year. I'm afraid if I can pass all of them.

Time flies like an arrow

I realized that I passed the time in POJ for about 11 monthes, almost one year. This year, I have been related to many kinds of tasks, investment, personal information, accounting, outsourcing vendor, and BCP.

They are all different, actually there are some common points of view, but they are different in the basement. It makes management of them more difficult than I had expected.

I don't think that I have learnt all of the management of them, instead I haven't learnt enough at all.

So I continue studying more and more.

One of my boss said that if you want to master one of them, it takes about five or more time.

Time flies like an arrow, but I have to spend the time with studying anytime.

Carrot cake

I had a piece of carrot cake today.

This is made of carrot juice, applicot, and nuts. I heard that the
recipe is very simple and easy to make.

Also the ingredient not include artificial things like sugar, actually
you use carrot juice, but it is carrot 100 percent, so this cake is
also good to your health.

These day, I sometimes eat macrobiotic menu or organic items. I
believe that the dishes made from good items makes your health better
in future.

Anyway, I try to make this cake someday.

Sky

Today, the weather was strange. In the morning, it rained and seems to
be last rainih, but in the afternoon, the blue sky appeared, then It
turned to be brighter.

Actually, the sky seems to be still strange like the photo above.

Finally, it comes to be dark again. I couldn't forcast how the weather
becomes next during today.

Winter

These days, maybe because of the weather not good and raining, quite cold days are continuing.

Actually, I like the atmosphere, in one word "air" of this season. It is cold but clear, the air comes into myself sharply, and sometimes wind goes through. Even the wind is cold, sunbeam is warm enough, and I feel happy with this kind of gaps.

I also feel happy when I see outside through the window, having a cup of tea without sugar.

Winter has come.

Hermite

Today I have reaserched about a method to calculate market risks. It is called the distribution measuring method, actually I don't know what this is called in English.

This method uses some difficult formulae to calculate the value of risks, and one of them is the Hermite function. This function is really interesting because even the formula includes a multiple difference of exponential function, once you decide one parameter which is the time for differencing, the function becomes quite simple one consists of multiple times x, the principle parameter of this function, and constant. If you define the times for differencing as zero, this function becomes 1, a constant.

There are many interesting formulae, someone say it as "beautiful". They seems to be very complexed, actually the idea or what the formula expresses is absolutely difficult, but once you put particular parameter to the function, it becomes quite simple answer. The most beautiful one is exponential function, I think. If you put pi times i, which is the unit for complex number, to the parameter of exponential function, the answer becomes -1. It is really interesting. I think it is one of the reason why many people are absorbed to mathmatics, the real mathmatics.

Excel

Today, I had a task with to utilize excel. There I had to compare two lists, which contains same names, but the way of writing is not perfectly the same. And my task is distinct it and choose the different between them.

It seems easy, but it wasn't, because the way of writing was more different than I had imagined. Also I'm now using excel 2000, there are no help to input functions when you input the function name.

When using the excel 2003 or later version, the software helps you to input the function with displaying the sample of parameters.

Finally I could finish my task, but I must make it easy because I'm going to pass this task to other team in the future. So I will try to make the process which I did today to a macro of the excel. It seems more and more difficult.... Sigh...

Rain

Today, it started to rain in the night.

I like rain, because the sound of rain makes me very calm feeling.

But in the night, if there is raining, it makes me some kind of
nervous feeling. I don't know why, but I am.

Meeting

Today, I had a meeting with a manager of one vender. Needless to say, the conversation was in English, and fortunately there was a translation.

Actually, I can catch what he was talking, but it is difficult for me to express my opinion. Even there the contents of the conversation was about operational risks, that I'm now used to, sometimes I couldn't catch some words which is important in the phrases.

I thought that I must ultimately study and become to speak English fruently.

This is it

Today, I went to the theater to watch the movie of Michael Jackson
named "This is it". It was absolutely fantastic, and reminds me about
him.

His music is marvelous, and he is like a king, or god, of pops, I
think. His music is not old fashoned even it is composed about twenty
years or more ago.

Now I think of him and listening to his tunes.

Wedding party

Today, I had a wedding party of one of my friends in university. We
belonged to the same jazz circle there, so there played a big band and
played some tunes which we played before.
It reminds me about our time of university.

Autumn

Yesterday, I came back from Okinawa to Tokyo. Then I realized that Tokyo came to be like autumn, sometimes winter.

Some people are wearing a coat, and others are wareing a muffler.

The wind go through my jackets, and it reminds me that it is November now.

I like winter, but the season between autumn and winter makes me like melancholic feelings.

Anyway I like the high, blue sky after summer.

Okinawa 5th day

Today is the last day in Okinawa.

It is defined in the text book of diving that you must take a rest for about half a day before getting on to the airplain when you dive pultiple times.

So I can't dive today, and I went to sight seeing around the island.

I went to some places where you can enjoy the traditional sights, and where the salt, one of the most famous suvenir in Okinawa, and where you can enjoy American tastes, Actually there are US navy base there in Okinawa, so there are many American people, and restaurant influenced with American culture.

Finally, I went back to the airport. It was 5 days trip, the longest trip in Japan for me, so I wanted to stay more and more days there. But there are many things to do at my office in Tokyo.

I'd like to come to Okinawa again and again. And I hope that it should be warmer, especially the water temperature, in the next time.

Okinawa 4th day

Today was quote good day, but just the wind was so strong that I
couldn't take a ship to go to dive in Kerama island.

So we went to some shore to dive. There were a little bit waves, but
the condition was quite better than yesterday.

I experienced deeper water diving. It is so silent and different from
usual diving.

Also I experienced taking photos in the sea. It is more difficult than
that in the land, but also interesting. I'd like to try more and more
times.

Okinawa 3rd day

Today was also windy, so we went to the same place as yesterday to dive.

Not only the wind, but also the temperature was low today, so that of
water was also low, unlike usual Okinawa.

But I tried to be used to dive in the cold water, and finally I could
take the PADI lisence called OWD.

In the night, I took a dinner at a restaurant famous for the
vegetables in Okinawa. It was so delicious!

Okinawa 2nd day

Today is the 2nd day for me to do scuber diving, also the first day
for me to do it in the sea.

Unfortunately, it was so windy that it is dangerous to go usual place
to dive. So we went to Ohjima island, where the place is not
influenced with wind, even there are tyhoon.

It is quite good to dive in the sea, because there are various kinds
of fishes there.

After the dive, I went to eat one of the most favorite food in Okinawa
called Okinawa-soba, Okinawa style noodle. The picture below is the
restaurant.

Okinawa 1st day

Since today, I took personal holiday, and comming to Okinawa to take a
license for scuber diving.

First day, I practice some knowledge and technics about scuber diving.
Then train in the pool.

I had a little bit afraid to breath in the water, but soon I came to
be used to it.

I'm really looking forward to dive in the sea.

Wedding

Today, I had a wedding party, there one of my coleague in hp have
married.

He seems to be so happy, also his words are filled with many happiness.

I've had given some of their happiness.

PADI

I'm going to go to Okinawa this week end, and a scuber diving lisence there.

Actually, this is the first time for me to experience scuber diving. Anyway, anyone who experienced it says that it is quite good to dive.

Today, I studied the manner and the modules to use with scuber diving, it is preparation for this course.

Now I'm really looking forward to do scuber diving. I've heard that you will change your view and the way of thinking when you experience the world under the sea. I'm now imaging the world with fishes, barrier leafs, and many things in the blue ocean.

Arrange

Today, I arranged a song named Owarinaki-Tabi, composed by Kazutoshi
Sakurai.

This is one of my favorite songs played by Mr Children. There are too
many scale changes that it was so difficult to make the change
naturally, but I finally complete the arrange.

I hope the one who listen to this song is moved with this arrange.

Competency

I had lectured about competency today. I have heard about the word "Competency", but I have never heard about the meaning.

The coach was whom teaching at some university, and also he is working as a consultant at the Watson Wyatt.

Simply saying, the meaning of the word competency is "the process to compete or finish something.

The competency seems to be same as the ability to do something, but it is quite different thing, because the competency is based on the results. Actually, the ability can be evaluated without results.

I realized that I should be careful about the results and the process to compete that.

Routine

I don't like something which is based on some template or forms, like routine. Actually, I don't negrect common sense, but to represent originality is one of the most important things, I think.

This is one of the phrase usually used in my company, and one of my favorite phrases.

Lunch

Today I had a committee in the morning, also I had a meeting on the lunch time. So I couldn't manage a time for it.

Actually, the lunch time is one of my favorite time, so I felt today as very long day to stay.

Just a small happiness makes people happy, I realized this simple thing today.

Dinner

Today I cooked a dinner.

Especially, I made pickles today.

It looks colorful and quite delicious!

Practice

Usually, I practice the bass every night, but today, I had no
appointment in the morning, so I practiced in the morning.

Unfortunately, it is rainy, so it is more humidy than usual. Actually,
less humidity makes sound nice.

I hope tomorrow becomes fine day.

Arrange

Today, I was told to arrange a tune played with Japanese pops band. It is for a farewell party for one of my best friends.

Actully, I haven't arrange these half year, these days I just composed as I imagined.

So i'm really looking forward to this, and image many many phrases for that.

Arranging is difficult because there are many thoughts of the composer, also I have to make it to my own music. But it is quite interesting because the spice of arranging enlarges the world of the tune and it changes the color of the tune.

Stepping out of square

I had a training about the mission, the strategy and the core value of my company these 4 days.

"Stepping out of square" is one of the phrases that I learnt this week. It implies that think big and without common sense makes the imagination free from general values, and come to be an innovation.

I like this phrase.

Training

Today, I had a training. We trainee are lectured by the CEO and the President.

Their words sounded so important and also filled with inocation in Japan's insurance. I was so excited to hear that and influenced with it.

Tomorrow, I'm going to have another lectures from many executive officers.

I'm really looking forward to tomorrow's sessions.

Live at Meguro

Today I had a gig with my own band named Musicaholics.

We also had a gig at Yokohama jazz promenade last week, so we could play almost all the tunes relaxed.

But one thing which annoyed me was that I had to do MC between each tune.

I shorteded the MC this time because I was told that my MC is too long to hear from some of my friends.

Finally, we could have the best play in this gig. Also the MC was short enough to hear, my friend told to me.

This time, the audience was the largest in these five gigs, also many of them liked my original tunes, it made us so happy.

I'm looking forward to the next gig!

Vegan

Today I went to the vegan festival at Yoyogi park. There we can eat
many kinds of food made with vegitable only. Even the ingredients are
vegitable only, they taste quite good!

Belgian beer

Today, I went to drink belgian beer with my coleague. There I can drink various kind of beer such as Chimay or Hoegaarden.

Belgian beer is one of my favorite beer in the world, so I drunk so many that I forgot to eat.

I'd like to come this bar again.

Only thing that prevent me to come everyday is that almost all the menu is expensive...

English conversation

I have a English lunch on every Thursday. There I talk with English teacher with some of my coleague, and study conversation.
Today I explained about my previous job, but I couldn't explain correctly because of luck of vocabulary for that.
Actually, vocabulary is the most important essence for conversation, I think.
So I'd like to catch up more and more words for fluent conversation.

communication

Today, we had a committee. And there we had presented a topic which we are working with other team. But there, we couldn't communicate each other enough, so the committee wasn't go well as we had expected.
I know that it is so difficult to remove misunderstanding, but we couldn't.
I should learn more about communication.

cold?

I'm having a runny nose today.

I hope it is not cold but hey fever,

because I have a gig on this weekend.

It may be better if I can catch a cold and absent from office.

book

Yesterday, I rent a novel from one of my friends. The novel is a kind of suspense, but drawing the emortion of women so directly.

I was so concentrated to reading it, and I finished reading it in one day.

It was interesting, but I haven't read novels some monthes, so the effect from the people in the novel moved me.

I'm now thinking of starting some other novels.

Today, I had a gig at Yokohama, Queen's Park. It was part of Yokohama Jazz Promenade.

I have played at this event for 2 times, but it is the first time for me to play with my band.

Actually, titanic tyhoon came this week and rained many times, but fortunately, today is sunny day, with clear blue sky and comfotable breeze.

Also, the wind was not as tough as I had imagined, so we could concentrate to palying.

The audiences seems to be interested and enjoyed our music, and some of the audiences told me that they want to hear our music again.

iPhone

Today, I changed my cell phone to iPhone.

I have heard about iPhone, but I haven't think of changing to iPhone. The reason was many, such as costs. But This time, I changed because the interface seems to be so interesting.

When I started using it, the usage was not good, because there were no instruction for iPhone, but as I'm used to use it, it turns to be really comfortable for me.

I'd like to install many applications to this, and make full use with it.

stew

Today, I went to a reataurant "Stew Kettle Rebirth".

There we can eat not only meat but various vegitables. And As the name of this restaurant implys, you can also eat various kinds of stews.

Today, I ate a beef stew with red wine sause. It was delicious. I'd like to come here again.

more and more

Today, I wanted to go home earlier than usual, because I'm going to have an exam tomorrow.

Instead of it, I couldn't because I had to analyze a data, and prepare for a committee coming next Wednesday.

I was flustrated with that task, because it took long time to analyze and the discussion to make a direction took long time also.

Finally it was over, and now I'm comming home now.

I hope there shouldn't be any interuption with studying.

don't know why

I don't know why I didn't have enough time to finish my tasks.

Actually, I'm ordered many tasks these days, and some of my boss says that I am useful because I finish many tasks in short time.

I was happy to hear that, but afraid one thing that I cannot do wha I want to do because of others' interuption.

assessment

About 2 months ago, I had an human assessment, in which I've assessed the skills especially for being manager.

The contents of the assessment was not difficult, but the team members in the discussion members were so aggressive that I was just a member of the discussion instead of the leader.

Because of this, the analysis of myself was "calm observer, needs more aggressiveness and leadership"

Actualy I myself is not what the analysis said, I think. But it doesn't mean a thing if I couldn't show that.

In one word, I must train and learn more and more as far as possible.

speed

I put the highest priority to the speed to finish tasks.

Instead of it, I think of the preciseness to be low priority.

My way of working is try and error, it means to finalize the task in short time as far as I can, then check it and correct it for many times.

I think the count of our misstook which we can find on the work in one time is limited. So I try to increase the times of checking.

Today I had a rehearsal of my big band. We are going to have a gig next week, in a jazz festival, also we are going to have anual concert the week after next week.

In the last rehearsal, we couldn't play in good sound, but today, the sound and the harmony was so nice that I thought we are ready to the concert.

I'm really looking forward to next week!

volunteer

Today is the Global Volunteer Day of POJ. This is the first time for me to do volunteer work belonging to some organisation.

Unfortunately, today is rainy. Inspite of this, we did the volunteer, cleaning the city from Ichigaya to Akasaka-Mitsuke, where my office is.

Although it was tough to pick up, gather trash in the rain, i felt nice, clear feelings when I finished it.

I'd like to join another event like this.

committee

Today I had a monthly committee. There I'm the office of the committee, so I have to prepare, manage the procedure.

But the most important task is to make a minute afterwards.

It is difficult to understand what the speakers means, and what they want. It requires not only the knowledge about insurance but accounting, investment and even operations.

I don't have enough knowledge even I'm working on this job for half a month, but I will continue studying.

phone call

I do not like talking on the phone, not only in English, but also even in Japanese.

When I'm talking on the phone, I cannot see a face and feelings on the face of whom I'm talking. So I should guess, imagine what he is thinking and feeling. It annoys me because I'm so nervous that I don't want to be miss-understood.

You might say that it is same with email, but they are quite diffent. There can be enough intervals between each conversations. It allows me to think and find appropriate and optimum answer. But also, the intervals derives speed from the communication.

Time and preciousness are trade off.

Anyway, I must take a phone when someone gives me a phone call.

winnie the pooh

I just remember the song of Winnie the Pooh.

"Winnie the Pooh. Tubby little cubby all stuffed with fluff, He's Winnie the Pooh. Silly willy-nilly old bear"

I have never think of the meaning of the words. But today I looked up the vocabulary.
Tubby is fat, cubby is small, willy-nilly is disorganized... This song make a gibe with Pooh, I think. Actually "pooh-pooh" means the same meaning to "make a gibe".

A little discovery in usual life.

Today I had some task with accounting. I haven't studied accouting, but I have many occation when knowledge of accounting is essential.

Actually, I dislike not only accounting but statistics. Although the knowledge about stocastic things. I have never think of utilizing these knowledge like now before.

english

These days, I am practicing English with Hearing Marathon.

The materials are sent once a month. And it includs an chapter with Canadian Radio Drama. Sometimes the speaking is too fast to catch up, but there is an explanation about the story, and it helps me understand the conversations in the drama.

This time, the title is "Becker the Hotel Detective".

drum

Today, I had an rehearsal for my band.

But some of the member couldn't come, and one of them is the drummer. So I told one of my friend to come and play.

Actually, his play was quite good! He played the tunes which we played today for the first time, but he could feel the atmosphare and played in good sound. Also the sound was different, in good meanings, from usual drummer.

I'm going to have a new band with him, and we are going to play the tunes of Pat Metheny on the band. I'm really looking forward to it!

Fujiyama

Today, I went to Fujikyu Highland Park at Gotemba, which is famous for many thrilling rides.

There are many fast speed roller coasters, and the most famous one is named Fujiyama. It is recorded on the Guniss book as the longest roller coaster in the world.

Also, there I rode newly constructed ride named Eejanaika. That name is from old Japanese word, but the ride is extraordinary thrilling. When you ride it, you goes not only up and down but up to down, rolling , falling from head, and more. I cannot tell how it is in one word. But it was absolutely interesting for me.

Only thing that irritated me was the waiting time. It took more than an hour to ride almost all the rides, and the worst case, actually the Eejanaika, I waited for 3 hours! Incredible.

Today is the second time for me to come to Fujikyu, but I thought I want to come here more times.

first time

Today is the first day with no glasres, contact lens.

I had so busy that I have forgotten that I have just finished an operation.

With no glasses, it seems so comfortable that I can finish many tasks in less time as usual.

But I should be care of my eyes not to dry. So I came back to home earlier than usual.

I hope that I will be more used to this condition next week.

miscellanious things

Today, I had an inspection after operation of Lasik on Yesterday.

Fortunatelly, it finished in an hour, so I could do what I wanted to do.

First, I changed the address for Mitsubishi UFJ trust and banking. I have an account here because my grand father had made an account for me. Actually, there are not so many branches there, so I have to take a private holiday for going to one of the branches.

Next, I had moved my money from usual saving from fixed deposit. Also, the interest of one my fixed deposit was not good, so I cancel that and contract as current interest. It is difficult to decide if you should make a contract with current interest or continue with past interest.

And many other things I did today. So there are no special things, but an important day for me.

LASIK

Today I took an eye operation, called LASIK.

This operation makes my eye sight good, and it contines forever.

I have heard about this operation from some of my friends, and all of them says that it is quite good. So I decided to take it.

The operation was a little scareing, but it finished in just 10 minutes.

Actually when the operation was over, my sight became good soon, but when the anesthesia wear off, I felt heavy pain on my eyes. I couln't stop my tears dropping from eyes when I came back to home, and it remained about 5 hours...

Anyway, the pain was over now. My sight is absolutelly good. I'm now imaging about what to do tomorrow and after that days with no contact lens and glasses

Ritz Carlton

Today, I am staying at the Ritz Carlton at Roppongi.

First, I want to go out to some foreign countries, such as Australia or Manhattan, NYC. But when I looked up the tours on the internet, I realized that it is really expensive to go these countries on Silver Week, and finally it is stupid to go there. So I decided to stay in Japan, but spend luxuary times. So I reseaved ther Ritz Carlton.

Shortly say, the Ritz Carlton is excellent. Everything in there is perfect, such as foods, services, rooms, and amenities. I was really fulfilled and enjoyed staying there.

I'd like to stay there more, in special time.

yokohama

Today I went to Yokohama.

I have visited Yokohama just 2 weeks ago, but this time, I stayed at Fujisawa yesterday, so it is convenient to come to Yokohama.

There were many new shops just opend, such as H&M, another shops are located at only Ginza and Omotesando. There were too many people there, I guess that this Silver Week, many people don't want to go foreign country and just go around somewhere in Japan, because they have spent money in Summer vacation, and also it is expensive to go out this time.

Anyway, I could buy what I wanted to buy, CDs, T-shirts, and glasses, which is for after taking Lesik.

Axtually I don't like to go out to clouded places...

cycling

I went cycling on the second day of this holiday.

I rode a bike from Kugenuma shore, near Enoshima, to Chigasaki. It was just 5 km or less, so it took about a half hour for one way. But I went to many interesting places, bakery, ice cream shop, and more, so finally it took 5 hours or more to go back to the starting point.

Anyway, it is so fun to play outside.

costoco

For the first day of Rilver Week, which is named after Golden Week on May, I went to the costoco, an extra large supermarket, at Kawasaki.

It is exiting to not only to choose what to buy but just seeing the products, because every items are sold with extra large amount.

One of my favorite things is colona beer. Maybe the price is half of that of usual.

Only thing that makes me annoyed is that it takes more than 2 hours to go around to see every items.

yokohama

I had a meeting for the Yokohama Jazz Promnade on October. Unfortunately, it was held at part of yokohama, thus I had to leave my office an hour before.

Coincidently, I had many things to do today, also one of my colleague moves to another team, so I couldn't depart from my office on time.

I afraid that any inconvenient shouldn't happen at the meeting because of my late arrival.

probability distribution

These days, I often use probability distribution, usualy shorten as PD, to asume a sequence of data following some model.

There are various kind of PD, especially the normalized distribution is the most likely used one.

I am now researching about NIG, normal inverse gaussian, distribution. This is an extended model of normalized distribution.

The difference between two PDs is that the shape can be transformed with its parameters, not only symmetric but assimmetric shape, also light tail to fat tail. The adoptability makes this to be used model financial data, especially market data.

enough time

If there are enough time for doing something, you tend to do things not efficiently. And if the time is limited, you can manage to do that in the time. Interesting thing.

statement

Today I had an occation to read a statement of one judgement. It was the first time for me to read kind of this.

I was surprised to know that the vocabulary in the statement was not so far from which we usually use in our daily life, also the verbs' forms were like ordering.

And which made me surprised me the most is that the structure of the statement was not absolutely logical but there seems to be remaining some buffer for thinking more.

There just started the system that common, not proffessional, people to join judgement in Japan now. I imagine that it should be quite difficult to judge people in the court.

fortune

Sometimes, good events cause in the same time and everything seems to be going on better and better, and vice versa.

Today, there were many good things on my work, so I could spend really fulfilled time.

But once a trouble happened, the rhythm suddenly became like confused, and I was faced many irritating things.

I don't know which makes things worse, the trouble or my hushed feeling. But it should be true that both things are influencing each other at least.

I wish I could be calm even if there happening any unforcasted things.

Today my PC suddenly crushed, which I bought about 5 or 6 years ago.

When I was using this, the screen turns black in a sudden, then restarted automaticaly. I have never experienced such crush before, so I was really surprised.

Soon I went to buy an external HDD to back up the data. Fortunately, the PC worked when I booted it for back up.

So far, I can manage with alternative one, but sooner or later, I want to buy new one, hopefully it should be MacBook.

curry and rice

Curry is one of my favorite foods. Actually, I can eat curry and rice almost everyday for a month.

Today I had vegitable curry for a dinner. It was quite delicious!

Also, there is an Indian curry restaurant around my house. There you can eat delicious nann.

Yes, I like curry.

nice dinner, fantastic times

Yesterday, I had a dineer at "Camillia", one of the highest class restaurant in Four Seasons Hotel in Japan.

We had a dinner at prvate space, and the taste was really nice. Not only the taste but the picture was absolutely good that I was fully enjoyed the time.

It is good to have beautiful meal not only for our physical health but also for our mental health.

lars jansson

Today, I went to the gig which one of my favorite artists, Lars Jansson, plays.

His play is so cool that you can imagine many colors, scenes from it.

Today was the first time for me to listen his music in live. It was wonderful time, the music was filled with warm feeling, also the atmosphere was really nice.

Each tone he plays comes to our heart, and made us audience happy.

The last tune he played was named "giving, receiving". We received many many things from him and his music. I hope he also received something from us.

birthday

Today is my birthday.

But I had an exam today, so I got up very early this morning, also I had too much tasks to do that I had been in office for about 16 hours!

Today is the most terrible birthday in my life...

In general, the 2 dimentional graph is drawn with holizontal axis for x, the basis value, and vertical axis for y, which is the calculated value with assumed function. It is quite natural thing for me, but it isn't for someone who is not familiar to science. Interesting difference.

I'm going to go to Okinawa this weekend.

It is the first time to me to go to Okinawa.

You know, I prefer mountain and river than sea.

I will try to get diving lisence.

These days, it rains almost all the weekend.

I don't hate rainy days,

because I lake to see outside through the window,

and see the trees, the clouds, and the rain drops on the window.

Also, I like hearing the sound of the rain drops.

Thus, most rainy days, I don't play any CDs,

but make the room silence to hear the sound of rains.

style of writing

For many years,

I have written on blog with the style of chatting,

such as disemvowelling some words,

and uncapitalizing the first character of the first word in the sentense.

But I realized

that it is not good to develope my English,

also it is not easy to read without capitalized characters.

So I decided that I'm going to write with appropriate expressions in my blog.
